Sport Pilot Info

As of September 1st 2004, the Federal Aviation Administration has made the Sport Pilots License effective across the country. The new FAA issued pilots license opens a number of opportunities for individuals who cannot obtain a Private Pilots License due to physical or financial restrictions.

The requirements to receive the Sport Pilots Certificate with a single engine land or sea privileges are:
A. Be at least 17 years of age;
B. Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language;
C. Have a valid medical or a current drivers license;
D. Pass a written knowledge exam;
E. Pass a practical flight exam.


Aviation News
The training involved is approximately half that of what is required in a Private Pilots License. This makes the cost significantly more feasible for people with financial limits.

January 2005 is when the first of these new certificates will be available for issuance. We at Aero Tech are planning on offering this training so stay tuned for updates!
